MASTER PLANS SECTOR

Celebrating Bahrija's
Architectural Gem

Project Overview
MED, in collaboration with the Rabat Local Council, is spearheading the revitalisation of Bahrija's Public Square. This master plan, rooted in the heart of Bahrija, seeks to enrich the environs of the picturesque Bahrija church, transforming the square into a vibrant and inviting communal space.

Revitalising Bahrija's Architectural Gem
Central to this project is the Bahrija church, a beacon of local architectural splendour. Our master plan is designed to celebrate this historical edifice, introducing contemporary elements that enhance its intrinsic beauty while maintaining its historical essence.

Greenery and Open Space
A key focus of the master plan is the integration of green spaces, aiming to infuse Bahrija with lush greenery and serene open areas. This initiative is set to not only elevate the aesthetic appeal of the square but also to offer a peaceful retreat for both residents and visitors.

Pedestrian-Friendly Transformation
A pivotal aspect of the master plan is the pedestrianisation of the existing car road. Through MED's expertise in traffic management, road and infrastructure engineering, and urban planning, we aim to convert the roadway into a pedestrian zone. This transformation will improve accessibility and encourage community interaction, making the square a focal point for pedestrian activity.

Enhancing the Pedestrian Experience
In addition to pedestrianisation, the master plan includes improvements to crossings, parking facilities, and the area surrounding the church's entrance. These enhancements are meticulously planned to elevate the pedestrian experience and foster a sense of community within the square.
